What is a sybot?
A sybot is a child of the new cyberverse, running down the leading edge, turned on and tuned in to the internet, not only to escape, but to shut out the quotidian world for all its interference and heavy handed, boring oppression and futility. Sybots gain power and forge alliances across race, age, sex, income and geographical location using the tools of the new technology. Hooked irrevocably online in real-time, they leave the free-est part of themselves in the subconscious dreamland of the cyberverse. Their myths, fashion, music and art are shaped by this headlong rush into the future. Their path leads to deeper connections through art, language, technology, biogenetics and politics. There is no end in sight: they are leading us into the unknown.
What is planet sybot?
This planet is a reflector for the sights and sounds sybots find out there and want to rebroadcast for others to see here. I had this idea about taking a miniature remote camera and integrating it into my outfit and rebroadcasting what I experienced in daily life, live over the net surreptitiously. Then I found out that there already are sybots out there living this way in a pioneer fashion, wearing video headsets and carrying battery backpaks and a miniature camera wherever they go. Sybots are real-time recorders, broadcasting across the line between so-called reality and the cyberverse.
